I am not a native Chicagoan, so my memories of our glorious Lakefront are all pretty recent. I have been to Lollapalooza in Grant Park for the past three years, and each year I am reminded how lucky I am to be in a city with this stunning green space. To be crammed shoulder to shoulder with thousands of music fans, swaying and singing as the long shadow of the summer sun passes over the skyline, is an unforgettable experience. I love seeing how many people from across the country and the globe come to our city and fall in love with the Lakefront setting. They must be jealous that this space is my "front yard" for the rest of the year. It can be a bit of a commercial overload, but I think that Lollapalooza brings attention our city's diverse music scene and showcases our Lakefront as a symbol of creativity and ingenuity.
Our best Lakefront memory is both of our children, now 27 and 23, attending Leone Beach's Junior Guard program and moving on to become Chicago Lifeguards. There is no better way for children to learn to love and respect Lake Michigan. BEW and DLP Chicago
Immigrating to Chicago from communist Romania when I was 4, my best lakefront memory is learning how to ride a bike at brynmawr and the lake, and finally being allowed to ride up and down the lakefront, which gave me a great head start in terms of learning the street pattern!
im watching right now, kudos on the show!
