Barack Obama may never be able to attend another Black church during this current presidential campaign. During this election season, The Black church will have many guest speakers with controversial opinions, and if he is a member, will continually be challenged to explain them.

And the Black church is currently challenging itself to be more vocal in addressing the many ills that faces its membership, especially in urban communities. And during those frustrations in publicly addressing these issues, Black church leaders will certainly be doing direction action campaigns and having positions that again, if Obama is a member, he will be challenged to justify or explain. He does not need that kind of distraction, so he may be relegated to attending private, unannounced services, or settling for radio and TV ministries.

While he may not agree with the former pastor and guest speakers at Trinity, it is still the place where he got his commitment to feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, and looking out for the least of God's people.

I have known Barack Obama since he first came to Chicago as a community organizer, and I have worked as a community organizer with him throughout his career, and he does not deserve this, but for the sake of the needed change in the presidency, he must make this sacrifice.
