For a sea shanty, a ghost story and songs from the world over, head to the Chinquapin Folk Music and Storytelling Festival.
Held every fall at Camp Wokonda park just outside Peoria, the
Chinquapin festival brings together all sorts of bards from across the country and across the seas. For four days, families get to enjoy a medley
of music and a smattering of stories in a bucolic forest setting.
Bring a blanket and a picnic basket then sing along or just sit back and take in the tales.
