Cosmic Beat

Some people in the world march to the beat of a different drum. One Drum pulls those diverging strands together into a global song.

One Drum is an eclectic multi-cultural ensemble that performs songs, stories and dances rooted in diverse cultures from around the world. Borrowing from the music of Africa, the Caribbean, Australia, the Middle East & the Americas, the band creates a collage of sound that illustrates the common cultural origins of music.

The belief that a common rhythm unifies disparate parts is a central theme for the band. It almost has to be, considering that One Drum is composed of a core group of eight musicians and a roster of more than 25 guest players.

Whether teaching workshops at local elementary schools or performing at the pyramids in Giza, Egypt, One Drum carries the magical power of music wherever it goes.
