Chicago by Boat: The New River Tour with Geoffrey Baer

WTTW11 producer, host, and Chicago Architecture Foundation docent Geoffrey Baer returns to the Chicago River for a tour highlighting the changes along the river since Chicago by Boat, his very first "tour" show, aired on Channel 11 in 1995. Shot in high definition and dramatically expanding the geographical scope of the original program, hear stories of the Illinois & Michigan Canal, cruise the Sanitary and Ship Canal and the North Shore Channel, and follow the river to its northern-most source – a sewer pipe near Waukegan!

Chicago by Boat: The New River Tour was produced with the assistance of the Chicago Architecture Foundation and the Chicago Historical Society.

Major funding provided by Harris and through the generous support of The Walter E. Heller Foundation in memory of Alyce DeCosta; Peter Kelliher Jr. and Diane Kelliher; and WTTW Adopt-a-Show members.
