Raising Readers

Raising Readers is a five-year reading initiative focused on using media to help children ages 2-8 build their reading skills. The project is funded by a Ready To Learn grant from the U.S Department of Education and is a cooperative agreement with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), PBS and The Ready To Learn Partnership.

Take a look at PBS KIDS Island, the centerpiece of the new PBS KIDS Raising Readers Web site, which provides free reading games and activities for children, parents, caregivers and teachers to use at home or in the classroom.
