WTTW11 Hosts 5th Annual TASTE OF CHECK, PLEASE!
Thursday, May 15 from 6:30-9:30 pm at WTTW11's studios
Featuring a special performance by Chicago jazz vocalist Dee Alexander
at the VIP Restaurant Showcase
Tastings from 30 restaurants, silent auction, raffle prizes, and more;
in partnership with the Greater Chicago Food Depository
Chicago, IL - April 18, 2008 - Growing in popularity and scale every year, WTTW11 announces the 5th annual Taste of Check, Please!, a benefit event with Check, Please! host and Master Sommelier Alpana Singh, on the evening of Thursday, May 15 at the WTTW11 studios at 5400 N. St. Louis in Chicago.
Chicago jazz vocalist and songwriter Dee Alexander will perform at the VIP Restaurant Showcase, accompanied by Miguel delaCerna.
The VIP Restaurant Showcase will take place from 5:30-7 pm, with the main event scheduled for 6:30-9:30 p.m. throughout the studios and in a festive tent on the grounds. Approximately 30 diverse area restaurants featured on the popular restaurant review program will offer samples to guests.
The Main Event admission price includes the local restaurant tastings, beer, wine, soda, and a special Check, Please! cocktail. Entertainment will be provided by Joe Valentino Band, currently appearing at the 200 East Supper Club, and Vanessa the Belly Dancer, a performer at Juliana. Valet parking is available for $10 per car, with very limited street parking. All guests will also be able to participate in a silent auction with over 50 items, and a raffle for 3 valuable prizes.
Admission to the VIP Restaurant Showcase includes all of the above, plus special drinks from selected participating restaurants; a full-service bar; exclusive VIP entertainment by Dee Alexander with Miguel delaCerna; a chance to win a role as bartender on Check, Please!; complimentary valet parking; and admission to the VIP Lounge all evening.
