98.7WFMT SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT & GENERAL MANAGER STEVE ROBINSON PROMOTED TO EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT FOR RADIO & PROJECT DEVELOPMENT

Chicago - July 23, 2008 - Window to the World Communications, Inc. (WWCI) has named Steve Robinson, formerly Senior Vice President & General Manager of 98.7WFMT, to the post of Executive Vice President for Radio & Project Development. WWCI is the parent company of WTTW11, America's most-watched public television station, and 98.7WFMT, Chicago's only classical radio station. The announcement was made today by Dan Schmidt, President & CEO of WWCI.

In his expanded role, Robinson, who reports directly to Schmidt, will continue to create public and private partnerships while exploring new and innovative ways to enhance the organization's development and fundraising functions across all of its media platforms.

"Steve's 39 years of development experience, innovative ideas, and highly successful track record at 98.7WFMT make him a natural for this new role," said Schmidt. "Under his leadership, 98.7WFMT's audience and membership have shown significant growth, and he has taken the station into the 21st century by embracing and utilizing new technologies, exposing it to the widest possible audience. With the many new programs and series he has initiated, Steve's leadership of the WFMT Radio Network has transformed it into an international cultural force. We are eager to tap into his energy, passion, and creativity to bring our entire organization to new heights," he added.

Robinson came to WWCI in August 2000 after highly successful management and development positions at the statewide Nebraska Public Radio Network, WBGO-FM in New Jersey, Vermont Public Radio, KPFA-FM in Berkeley, and commercial and public radio stations in the Boston area. During his tenure at 98.7WFMT, he has spearheaded numerous successful fundraising drives while expanding the profile of the WFMT Radio Network, now widely recognized as one of the finest producers of syndicated fine arts content in the world. Programs that have been developed under his direction include Exploring Music with Bill McGlaughlin; a 30-week opera series featuring performances from the Lyric Opera, San Francisco Opera, Houston Grand Opera, and the Los Angeles Opera; and production and distribution of programs from the New York Philharmonic, Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Chamber Musicians, and La Jolla Chamber Music Festival, as well as a wide variety of specials, including Princess Magogo, Pavarotti: The Legend at 70, Playing for the Fighting 69th, Live from Salzburg: Mozart at 250, and many others. On WFMT, Robinson and his team have been especially committed to fostering and showcasing young musicians –- many through the new weekly series Introductions -- helping to cultivate a younger and broader audience for classical music.

Robinson's innovative programming was recognized by ASCAP, who awarded him the 2003 Deems Taylor Award for his contributions to and support of excellence in radio programming. Most recently, along with Bill McGlaughlin, he was the recipient of the Music Institute of Chicago's prestigious Dushkin Award for Exploring Music. In 2003 and 2004, Steve won the Peter Lisagor Award for War Letters and The Making of Princess Magogo.

Robinson is a native of Boston and holds a bachelor of music degree from Boston University. He serves on the boards of several Chicago ago area non-profit arts organizations.

For more than 50 years, audiences have turned to WTTW11 for distinctive programming that informs, inspires, educates and entertains, reaching two million weekly viewers over a four-state area.
