In recognition of Free and Charitable Clinics Month, join us at Legler Library for a Firsthand: Homeless event in partnership with The Night Ministry to raise awareness and find solutions for homelessness in Chicago.
Free and Charitable Clinics provide essential healthcare services to uninsured and underinsured individuals and families, including those experiencing homelessness. This forum will include an expert panel discussion around the challenges and successes of providing medical care to underserved populations and we will watch excerpts from WTTW’s Firsthand: Homeless documentary series.
This event is ideal for healthcare providers, social workers, community advocates, and anyone interested in the intersection of healthcare and homelessness.
Firsthand: Homeless is the newest addition to the award-winning Firsthand multiplatform, multi-year initiative focusing on the firsthand perspectives of people facing critical issues in Chicago. Visit the website to explore the project.
WTTW has partnered with All Chicago, Chicago Public Library, The Night Ministry, and Ignite throughout 2024 on journalism and community engagement initiatives related to Firsthand: Homeless.
Lead support for Firsthand: Homeless is provided by Ann and Rich Carr.
