Here Comes the Sun
"Can we have class outside today?" At Art and Science in the Woods, the answer is always "Yes!"
A weeklong event held every summer at the Sun Foundation Center just outside of Peoria,
Art and Science in the Woods gives children (and adults) a chance to exercise the left and right sides of their brains while relaxing in a beautiful forest
setting.
Whether working with performers like Oba William King and Chad Dunn, sculpting with renowned artist Preston Jackson, or just
launching model rockets into the air, campers have so much fun they don't even realize they're learning!
The camp is just one of the programs organized by the
Sun Foundation, an organization founded in the 1960s to provide arts education to underserved rural communities.
