Join us for a special student-led screening and discussion event presented by DePaul University’s College of Communications featuring Firsthand: Peacekeepers, the acclaimed docuseries produced by WTTW. This event will showcase selected episodes from the series, which follows Chicagoans working on the front lines of community-based violence prevention and peacekeeping efforts.

Following the screening, DePaul journalism and documentary film students will lead a panel discussion examining how solutions-based media can frame issues as possibilities for change. Through critical discussion, students will explore the responsibilities and challenges of covering these stories with nuance, integrity, and impact.

This event is open to the public and offers a unique opportunity to engage with emerging storytellers and thought leaders as they reflect on the intersection of media, community, and justice.

This event is free, but RSVP below is required.
