WTTW News invites you to Black Voices: A WTTW News Community Conversation, a virtual event on Monday, February 22 at 8:00 pm. Though we celebrate Black History every month at Chicago Tonight: Black Voices, this Black History Month’s community conversation shines a light on Black women: the power they hold while still overcoming adversities specific to them. From Harriet Tubman to Rosa Parks to Stacey Abrams, Black women continue to be key leaders in our communities.

Brandis Friedman, co-anchor of Chicago Tonight and host of Chicago Tonight: Black Voices, will moderate a live, virtual conversation featuring Felicia Davis (president and CEO of Chicago Foundation for Women), Michelle Duster (author, activist and great-granddaughter of Ida B. Wells), Dorri McWhorter (CEO of YWCA of Metropolitan Chicago), and LaSaia Wade (Founder and Executive Director of Brave Space Alliance).  The panel will look back at those who have led the way for change, and will highlight trailblazers and community leaders making an impact today.

Lead support for CHICAGO TONIGHT: BLACK VOICES is provided by Fifth Third Bank. Additional support is provided by Gertrude Dyane and James H. Wooten, Jr.; The Joseph & Bessie Feinberg Foundation; The Abe and Ida Cooper Foundation; Greenberg Traurig, LLP; Nicholas Antoine; Judy and John McCarter; and Hiranda and Paul Donoghue.
