Eighty years after the devastating atomic bombings that ushered in the nuclear age, BOMBSHELL explores how the U.S. government sought to manipulate the truth about the bombings of Japanese cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II by censoring firsthand reporting from the ground while minimizing the horrific human toll. The film follows one journalist who gladly did the government’s bidding, and a group of reporters who challenged the official messaging.

The film screening will be followed by a discussion and Q&A with filmmakers Ben Loeterman and Gaia De Simoni.
