As Christmas and Jimmy's first birthday approach, Mrs. Hall receives distressing news and befriends a wild fox for comfort.

Tristan and Siegfried end up stranded while James suffers from another bout of brucellosis and Mrs. Hall bonds with Mrs. Pumphrey. 

The appearance of an unidentified object in a field leads Mrs. Hall to finally lose her temper with Bosworth, while Richard receives an outstanding opportunity that requires a difficult decision.

Richard is sent to find a rogue exotic snake at Pumphrey Manor, which has been requisitioned as a hospital. Mrs. Hall sends Tristan with, to force the young men to get to know each other.

Guests both expected and not arrive for baby Jimmy's christening day, while Siegfried deals with a farmer trying to scam him. 

Siegfried finds an enemy in Bosworth, the head of the blackout wardens, while James tries to settle back into civilian life as a father and Helen adapts as her sister grows up.

Helen, Mrs. Hall, and Mrs. Pumphrey do their part on the home front while James confronts an illness during pilot training and Siegfried starts to give Richard more responsibility. 

The fifth seasons of both shows return to WTTW and PBS in January, and we have new previews of both.

Thomas Cromwell's final chapter is on the way in Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light, for which we have a new video preview – along with a look at a few other upcoming dramas.

As we near the fifth season premiere of All Creatures Great and Small, we have some first looks – including Tristan's return.

The beloved show has been renewed for two more seasons, and Callum Woodhouse will return as Tristan in season 5.

James tries to make his way home from training at Christmas to welcome a new son, in the season finale. 

Helen moves home to help on the family farm but her father wants to coddle her as she's pregnant. Mrs. Hall and Siegfried wrestle with an impending departure. 

James finally has to leave for the air force, and set about preparing Skeldale for his absence and reckoning with leaving Helen and their coming child behind.
