The Ravenswood cafe hosts community suppers where donations go to a food pantry while embracing sustainability through making nearly everything in house for its large menu, which includes Louisiana specialties and a line of gluten-free baked goods. 

Chuck Pine serves not just Chicago-style and Texan barbecue but also Cajun and Mexican regional dishes with produce grown on a farm at one of his two locations in the southwest suburbs. 

Damarr Brown, the Chef de Cuisine at Virtue in Hyde Park, wasn't sure he wanted to do Top Chef at first. But after his mentor, Chef Erick Williams, encouraged him to take the opportunity, he went far in the competition. Brown discusses representation in the Chicago restaurant industry and shares his recipe for Chicken and Andouille Jambalaya.
