In a ceremony held in Chicago for the national food and hospitality awards, Chicago notched two wins, one more than last year.

Nominations have been announced for the prestigious 2025 James Beard Awards that recognize people and businesses in the United States' food and hospitality industry. Chicago has five nominees this year.

The James Beard Awards, a custodian of Chicago's hospitality industry, have named Chicago's Lem's Bar-B-Q as one of "America's Classics," joining other Chicago spots like Sun Wah and Calumet Fisheries. 

Chicago has 22 semifinalists in the "Oscars of food" this year, including in new beverage categories. The Awards will be announced in Chicago in June.
