It's Christmas again in the dales, which means Tristan is home from school awaiting his exam results, James and Helen must figure out the holidays and decide their future, and Siegfried and Mrs. Hall are perhaps ready to progress in their respective relationships. 

Phileas Fogg's rush to circumnavigate the globe in 80 days is coming down to the wire. But his past looms large when he reaches New York. And that's not even the only obstacle that remains, in the season finale. 

James' parents are coming to visit, and he's preparing to introduce them to Helen and give them disappointing news. But a sudden decision leads to more good news, even though it's first interrupted by a difficult veterinary situation.

As Phileas Fogg and his companions cross America's West, they reluctantly help a U.S. Marshal as he escorts a prisoner, and eventually end up in the middle of an old Western shoot-out in a saloon.

Hugh returns to Yorkshire just in time for Mrs. Pumphrey's annual cricket match between a team captained by him and one by Helen's father. A jealous James tries to prove himself by replacing a sulking Tristan on the team. 

Fogg and his companions end up marooned. Some revelations turn Fogg against Passepartout, but the Frenchman is determined to save his friendship. Fix begins to realize the nature of her own relationship with Passepartout.

It's Tristan's birthday, and Siegfried has finally decided to give him more responsibility as a vet—with some supervision, of course. James has to have a difficult conversation with Helen, while a dinner party becomes awkward. 

Fogg can't access his money when he arrives in Hong Kong, stalling his progress. Passepartout and he both set out to secure money in very different ways, while Fix worries about the publication of her latest newspaper story. 

Siegfried has to take charge of Tricki Woo, and the dog soon gets him into trouble. James tries to help a newly widowed woman with problems on her farm, while Tristan tries his hand at raising hens.

Phileas Fogg and his companions find themselves in an Indian village during a wedding and are asked to step in when a dispute with the British army disrupts the festivities.

Around the World in 80 Days may be a work of fiction, but its characters move through a historical world filled with real people, technology, and places. Here are a few things based on true history in the first four episodes of the show.

Tristan and James encourage Siegfried to take some risks and make some changes, while Tristan also pushes James to ask Helen to the Daffodil Ball and Mrs. Hall meets an intriguing, kind client.

Another delay leads Phileas Fogg to take a desperate and dangerous path to his next destination. Fix proves exceedingly useful in the desert while also learning about her father's past from an unexpected companion.
