When D.I. Ray is promoted to Homicide after displaying heroism, she quickly realizes that she's just there because the murder of a South Asian man is being investigated as an honor killing, and she can provide cultural cover. 

Will takes part in a charity motorcycle race but soon finds himself investigating the death of one of its participants with Geordie. Will also tries to learn to be a father now that he is married and has a stepson.

As the investigation into the murder of Gabriela Baldoni and her real identity continues, Ridley and Goodwin argue over the involvement of the amateur sleuth Kit McKellen.

Dubravka begins to trust Goran with more information and responsibilities as her plans progress, with Bianca returning to the UK and Christian on his way. 

The series finale of Endeavour brings Joan's wedding as well as the wrapping up of numerous cases and strands from previous seasons, as Morse and Thursday finally dig into Blenheim Vale and the trauma it hides.

Farman brings Ridley on to help investigate another case when a woman's body is found on an isolated moor near a wind turbine. An amateur sleuth attaches himself to Ridley during the case. 

Christian is on the run in Costa Rica, while Hannah and Billy try to discover all of the Mimicas' sources in the police and take down Dubravka before she can retaliate against Christian. 

A random death has Morse continuing to dig further into the past, bringing danger upon himself. He urges Thursday to keep Strange away, for Joan's sake. Meanwhile, a case involving a TV detective show unfolds. 

Ridley continues to dig into the years-old case of Zoe Lindsey's disappearance after the death of a suspect, to the anger of the suspect's widow. But Ridley is convinced the original investigation was flawed. 

Hannah is determined to take down Dubravka in order to protect Christian, who is living a fugitive life with Dubravka's daughter, Bianca. Dubravka wants to continue her son's work. 

Morse is back on the job for a final season after spending time away dealing with his drinking problem. He returns to big changes in the lives of all of his closest colleagues, setting him up to be left behind and alone. 

Alex Ridley has retired from the police force in the wake of tragic loss, but he is drawn back to a case when a suspect in the disappearance of a young girl years ago is killed. 

The Marlow Murder Club by Robert Thorogood, the creator of Death in Paradise, is being adapted into a mystery for PBS with some actresses you might recognize.

The final, ninth season of Endeavour, which consists of three episodes, has an airdate. It will also be accompanied by a new mystery, and a special looking back on the show.
