Mystery

As Mrs. Maguire's marriage to Jack nears, a boy goes missing. Sidney makes a momentous decision in his relationship with Amanda. Geordie struggles to cope with his separation from his family. Leonard begins to stand up for himself.

Hannah's nightmares continue and begin to be all too real, while Tom has disappeared. Rob and Roshana are slowly uncovering hints about Tom's past – he's been lying about things. A trip with Sean to Scarborough in search of clues warps into a terrifying journey for Hannah.

Sidney leaves Grantchester on a mission – but also to sort out his life. He finds himself an outsider in a gypsy camp, and when a murder involves an acquaintance he's the first suspect. Mrs. Maguire receives some closure, and Geordie seeks to make amends. Sidney's not so lucky.

Tom Parfitt lives alone but is eager to move into assisted living, so he stages a fall. There's something unusual about him: he acts younger than his "eighty-odd" years, and a photo of a boy seems to upset him. And he brings both tragedy and mystery to the retirement home.

Sidney, Geordie, and Leonard are all forced to confront their decisions, with disastrous consequences. An unexpected figure from Mrs. Maguire's past awakens feelings and thrusts her life into disarray. And a woman is dead at a factory, apparently from a fall – but Geordie doesn't believe it.

When Leonard witnesses a robbery with his new companion Hilary, they become essential sources for Sidney and Geordie. A murder soon turns up – how is it connected? Sidney sinks into depression while Geordie contemplates the future of his romantic relationships.

A widespread illness at the village cricket game suggests an attempt at poisoning that soon involves two Pakistani brothers and a family that are pillars of the community. Extramarital relationships lead to an argument between Sidney and Geordie.

As Sidney and Geordie investigate the murder of a doctor, Sidney begins to receive ominous warnings in the form of phone calls and a dead crow. How is he connected to the crime, and why is he being targeted, with Amanda's new baby Grace thrown into danger as well?

Sidney and Geordie are back, and in fine fettle. As Amanda nears the end of her pregnancy, Sidney must determine how to navigate his relationship with her. Meanwhile, when a groom never shows for a wedding, the two detectives investigate his disappearance.

This finale is intense, and entirely unprecedented and unexpected. It provides a moral summation of the entire show, and everything that came before can be fitted in, both plotwise and in terms of the message.

Photos from the finale of Sherlock season 4 reveal nothing, but "The Final Problem" is sure to be an explosive episode.

Are you the fresh-faced "A Study in Pink," or the sexy "Scandal in Belgravia?" Do you seek secret agent thrills like "The Six Thatchers" or do you prefer cheery conversation like "The Sign of Three?"

It’s all in the title, folks. Don’t ever trust anything Sherlock does or says. The latest episode of Sherlock may as well be a soap opera, with its crazy media star, a cocaine habit, an estranged evil sibling, a ghost of a deceased character, and a near-suicide.

The first episode of Season 4 of Sherlock features a significant birth and a shocking death, as well as some secret agent-style thrills. Oh, and we still don't know what's up with Moriarty.
