Alex Ridley has retired from the police force in the wake of tragic loss, but he is drawn back to a case when a suspect in the disappearance of a young girl years ago is killed. 

The final, ninth season of Endeavour, which consists of three episodes, has an airdate. It will also be accompanied by a new mystery, and a special looking back on the show.
