While Louis Comfort Tiffany is renowned for his work in stained glass, Chicago’s Loop contains examples of his work in other media as well, including both mosaics and sculpture.
In the Marquette Building lobby, a large mosaic mural created by Tiffany, in concert with his designer Jacob Adolph Holzer, depicts important scenes from the life of the building’s namesake, the French explorer Jacques Marquette. And in the opulent lobby of the Palmer House Hilton Hotel, heroic female figures light the way up a grand staircase.
