In partnership with Braver Angels, Illinois America 250, Illinois Humanities, and Mikva Challenge, WTTW will present regular Firsthand: Democracy screenings and conversations to invite community residents, thought leaders, and policymakers to engage in civil discourse to explore the state of democracy in Chicago and Illinois.

The Firsthand: Democracy Discussion Guide, written by Blueshift Education founder and principal Fran Sterling, provides direction and prompts for meaningful discussion and engagement, and tools for community members and organizations, educators, thought leaders, and policymakers to examine and understand the complexities of civil discourse and democracy.
