News of Miss Austen has been slow in coming, but we finally have a first look and a premiere date. The four-part TV adaptation of the novel of the same name by Gill Hornby will premiere on WTTW, PBS, and the PBS app beginning May 4, 2025, during the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen's birth.

Starring Masterpiece mainstay Keeley Hawes as Jane's sister Cassandra, it follows Cassandra as she relives her youth with Jane after her death via a series of letters between the sisters that she fears could ruin Jane's reputation. Meanwhile, she tries to help Isabella Fowle (Rose Leslie of Downton Abbey) in the present with lessons from the letters.
