On Jane Austen's 250th birthday, Masterpiece has announced that it is developing a second season of Miss Austen based on another Gill Hornby novel.

Cassy finds herself facing a wrenching choice in the question of Henry Hobday and her future. In the present day, she works to secure Isabella's future. 

After trying times and bouts of melancholy, Jane finally publishes some novels, but illness soon looms. Cassandra tries to protect her sister's legacy, and her friend Isabella's future. 

While Cassandra spars with her sister-in-law Mary and tries to prepare a future for Isabella, she also thinks back to a long-ago romance, thanks to Jane's letters. 

After a death, Cassandra Austen rushes off to recover her sister Jane's letters, lest they reveal things to the public about the famous author and her family. 

The series starring Keeley Hawes about Jane Austen and her sister Cassandra premieres on WTTW in May, from an adaptation of a Gill Hornby novel.
