A new Masterpiece series featuring a contemporary version of the legendary Parisian detective Jules Maigret was announced last year, and now we have a trailer and an airdate. The show, simply titled Maigret, will premiere on WTTW, PBS, and the PBS app on October 5.
It stars Benjamin Wainwright World on Fire, Endeavour, Unforgotten) as the title character, who was created by the crime reporter Georges Simenon. Maigret's wife Louise is played by Stefanie Martini, the title charachter of Prime Suspect: Tennison and a star of the upcoming The Gold, a true crime drama that premieres on WTTW the same day as Maigret.
