The Seventh Season of 'Miss Scarlet' Will Be Its Last

The Victorian detective series Miss Scarlet has started filming its seventh and final season, Masterpiece has announced. The announcement that the series is ending comes soon after the sixth season wrapped up on WTTW and PBS, bringing Eliza into a new era of growth in her practice as well as an ever-deepening relationship with Alexander Blake, whom has just been promoted himself. 

Miss Scarlet premiered in 2021 as Miss Scarlet and the Duke and became just Miss Scarlet in season 5, after her longtime friend and would-be lover William "The Duke" Wellington left London. He was replaced at Scotland Yard by Alexander Blake, whose relationship with Eliza has proven much more overt, even if it brings its own complications. Those, as well as professional difficulties, will remain at the forefront in season 7, along with the arrival of a new crime boss and a new police boss for Alexander.
