Bontempi Career Timeline
1954 - Bontempi is born in Fornovo di Taro, a small town outside of Parma, Italy.
1973-1980 - Bontempi studies architecture at the University of Florence.
1980 - At the first Venice Biennale of Architecture, Bontempi is influenced by the ideas of Léon Krier of Luxembourg and Maurice Culot of Belgium.
1988 - Bontempi establishes his architecture practice near Parma, Italy.
1997 - 1998 - Bontempi teaches at the Prince of Wales Institute in London.
2000 - Bontempi delivers the John Burgee Annual Lecture at the University of Notre Dame.
2001 - Bontempi receives the Congress for the New Urbanism’s Charter Award for the design of Fonti di Matilde.

2002 - Bontempi wins the competition to design Place de Toscane in Val d’Europe, outside Paris.
2008 - Place de Toscane receives the 2008 Palladio Award.
