It may be a silly day, but we’re not upset about an excuse to eat pie, and 3/14 (the first three digits of the mathematical constant pi) is as good as any. We've rounded up places in the Chicago area that offer pies. We focused on sweet pies, not hand pies or tarts. We also didn't include restaurants that aren't focused on pie, even if they might have a slice or two on their dessert menu.

Au Levain Bakery & Café at 4301 N. Lincoln Ave. in Chicago's North Center neighborhood - Opened this year as a brick and mortar shop, it typically has some pie available by the slice.
Bang Bang Pie & Biscuits at 2051 N. California Ave. in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood - Ten varieties of pie are available to order for Pi Day – or you can get a “frankenpie” with slices of six different pies in one dish.
Defloured at 1477 W. Balmoral Ave. in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood - Pi Day orders are already closed for this gluten-free bakery, but that doesn’t mean you can’t eat pie on another day.
First Slice at 5357 N. Ashland Ave. in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood, 1969 W. Montrose Ave. in Chicago’s Ravenswood neighborhood, and 4664 N. Manor Ave. in Chicago’s Ravenswood Manor neighborhood - There are 12 varieties of pie available at this shop, which also serves needy families through social service organizations.
Happy Apple Pie Shop at 226 Harrison St. in Oak Park - There’s always apple pie available in addition to two seasonal pies here.
Honeypie at 6155 N. Broadway in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood - Fourteen varieties of pie are available at this bakery.
Hoosier Mama Pie Company at 1618 1/2 W. Chicago Ave. in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood and 749 N. Chicago Ave. in Evanston - There are always numerous varieties of pie available at this stalwart's two locations.
Imani’s Original Bean Pies - Bean pie might remind you of sweet potato pie, and is a specialty of the Nation of Islam. You can order bean pie with or without cream cheese frosting as well as some fruit pies to ship from Imani; they're all also available in vegan versions.
Justice of the Pies at 8655 S. Blackstone Ave. in Chicago’s Avalon Park neighborhood - Six sweet pies are available from a baker who has appeared on a Netflix show and also teaches children about healthy food via workshops, among other social justice missions.
Little Goat Diner at 3325 N. Southport Ave. in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood - You can enjoy a Sugargoat Fry Pie that mimics dipping french fries into a chocolate milkshake here.
Lost Larson at 5318 N Clark St. in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood and 2140 W Division St. in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood - Three varieties of pie (one savory) are available.
Mickii's at 1754 W. Lunt Ave. in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood - Four varieties of pie are available in 6-inch and 9-inch sizes.
Milk Bar at 208 N. Green St. in Chicago’s Fulton Market neighborhood - The first Chicago outpost of this national phenomenon just opened, and offers its signature Milk Bar pie and a peanut butter crunch pie.
Mindful Baking at 1942 W. Montrose Ave. in Chicago’s Lincoln Square neighborhood - You can get individual-size silk pies from this vegan bakery.
Pie, Pie My Darling at 2636 W. Chicago Ave. in Chicago's Ukrainian Village neighborhood - Both mini and full-size pies in four flavors are available for pre-order from this vegan bakery, with some minis available for walk-ups.
Scafuri Bakery at 1337 W. Taylor St. in Chicago's Little Italy - This old-school Italian bakery always has pecan pie available.
Spilt Milk at 811 South Blvd. in Oak Park - Nine varieties of pie are available for pre-order.
Spinning J at 1000 N. California Ave. in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood - Five sweet (and two savory) pies are available for Pi Day from this old-school soda fountain and diner.
Sweet Mandy B’s at 1208 W. Webster Ave. in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood and at 254 E. Ontario St. in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood - You can choose from six varieties, whole or in slices.
West Town Bakery at two Chicago locations and in Evanston and Wheeling - Three kinds of pie are regularly available.
