July is Jam-Packed with Food Events Around Chicago. Here’s a List

July is always a busy month for Chicago area food festivals, so we’ve rounded up a list – highlighting wine, craft beer, tacos, margaritas, burgers, and more – happening in the city and suburbs.

Taste of Oak Brook

Thursday, July 3 | Village Sports Core Fields, 700 Oak Brook Rd.
This event highlights the restaurants of Oak Brook, complete with a beer garden, ’80s cover band, and even a drone show.

Windy City Smokeout

Thursday, July 10 through Sunday, July 13 | United Center Parking Lot C, 1901 West Madison St.
This country music festival outside the United Center doubles as a BBQ festival, with pitmasters from all over the country.

Naperville Ale Fest

Saturday, July 12 | Naper Settlement, 523 S. Webster St.
The Naperville Ale Festival returns to Naper Settlement with more than 100 craft beers and several food trucks.

Chicago’s Best Restaurants

Wednesday, July 16 | 825 W. Erie St.
Chicago magazine hosts this festival, which features Chicago chefs showing off their “signature bites” from the magazine’s new cookbook.  

Margarita Night

Wednesday, July 16 | Everts Park, 111 North Ave., Highwood
This margarita-centric festival in Highwood boasts a tropical theme, a Jimmy Buffet tribute band, and margaritas in the park.

Rogers Park Taco Crawl

Thursday, July 17 | Various locations on Clark Street 
This taco crawl will take you through one of two routes with stops at various restaurants on Clark Street in Rogers Park.

Highwood Days with Taste of Highwood

Thursday, July 17 through Sunday, July 20 | Downtown Highwood Metra Station Parking Lot
Taste of Highwood joins forces with the carnival Highwood Days to serve up highlights from Highwood’s restaurants alongside a carnival-like atmosphere.

Horner Brew Fest

Friday, July 18 | Horner Park, 2741 W. Montrose Ave.
Enjoy craft beer and cider in Horner Park as part of a fundraiser for the park’s advisory council, which is working to preserve the park’s ash trees.

Taste of River North

Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19 | 627 N. Wells St.
This festival in River North highlights the neighborhood’s favorite restaurants and will also feature art vendors and live music.

Tacos y Tamales Festival

Friday, July 18 through Sunday, July 20 | Blue Island Ave. by Ashland Ave. & Cermak Rd.
The Tacos y Tamales festival is moving to a larger location in Pilsen this year to celebrate authentic Latin American cuisine with a variety of styles of tacos, tamales, handmade tortillas, music, art installations, and more.

Roscoe Village Burger Fest

Friday, July 18 through Sunday, July 20 | 2000 W. Belmont Ave.
This “patty party” is back for its 18th year with more than a dozen local burger joints slated to serve up burgers alongside live music and more.

Japan Festival Chicago

Saturday, July 19 | Sports Park East, Skokie
Enjoy Japanese street food at this cultural celebration in Skokie, which also features music like taiko drums and J-pop, kimono fashion, anime art, and tea ceremonies. 

Taste of Pullman Park

Saturday, July 19 | 11101 S. Cottage Grove Ave.
This neighborhood-centric offshoot of the Taste of Chicago highlights the food around the Pullman community. 

Ravenswood on Tap

Saturday, July 19 and Sunday, July 20 | Ravenswood and Berteau Avenues
Enjoy the many beverages of Chicago’s Malt Row with this festival. Street food vendors, cocktails from KOVAL, axe-throwing, and more round out the entertainment.

Summer Wine Fest

Friday, July 25 | Lincoln Park Zoo
Roam the Lincoln Park Zoo at this 21+ event, which promises 50 different varietals from 20 wineries.

Taste of Lincoln Avenue

Friday July 25 and Saturday, July 26 | 2500 N. Lincoln Ave.
This event highlights neighborhood restaurants and includes arts and crafts; a whiskey tasting, and even a dog parade.

Uncorked: The Forge Wine Festival

Saturday, July 26 | The Forge: Lemont Quarries 
There are more than 100 wines from 20 different wineries to choose from at this 21+ festival in Lemont. 

Cocktails in the Park

Saturday, July 26 | Appleton Park, 110 N. Island Ave., Batavia
Bring your chairs or a picnic blanket to sip cocktails and enjoy appetizers from various local restaurants at this event in Batavia.
